REVIEW: Outdoor Girls Camp
September 11-13, 2009
"Twenty one women attended Outdoor Girls Camp 2009. Fifteen of the twenty one were returning campers. A good time was had by all and many campers said they really enjoyed the smaller group. Campers helped celebrate Mrs. McGregor’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Each camper received a special T-shirt to honor Mrs. McGregor. We had a special visit by her “friend” in camping, Miss Kay from Kennebec County. We made the decision to ask campers to bring food a menu items for a specific meal. This not only worked well, the women enjoyed it also. We had some awesome meals including a special Saturday night supper of surf and turf. Campers worked together to get the meals ready and clean up together.

Activities at camp were boating, fishing, and since it was a warm weekend campers enjoyed a lot of swimming. Other activities at camp were: Art (we finished our group art project and donated it to CNH) , group and board games, art class by Vigee Blue, social hour, a Functional Crafts Contest and a talent show. Of course there were camp fires, storytelling and a few friendly pranks.

Camp 2010 as a topic of discussion. Campers said they want camp again next fall. We suggest that we reserve Camp New Hope again for the second weekend of September. Thank you to the board for your continued support. If you have any questions please feel free please ask."
