WUMN Event Committees
Womyn Unlimited events are planned by volunteers working on special committees. Each committee has 4 to 10 women who meet at times convenient for the members. Committees are a great way to get involved in the organization and make new friends as you work together on a fun goal.

Gala 2009
The Gala committee is full, but Event Night volunteers are needed for the annual Winter Gala; decorations, advertising, ballroom setup, ticket sales. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the Nicollet Mall. Attendance is between 600 and 800 women each year.

Outdoor Girls Adventure Camp, 2009
This committee coordinates all aspects of a weekend get away at a summer camp in northern MN, held in September. The camp hosts between 50 and 80 women. Preparations include, advertising, recruiting campers, planning food, site set up & clean up, leading activities, safety planning and reserving room assignments. Committee members receive a discounted camp fee.

Outdoor Activities, 2008
This committee is for women who want to have fun planning active get-togethers. Previous events included the Annual WUMN bike ride, picnics, and volley ball games at local parks. Committee members get to choose the activity, date and time. New ideas are welcome. These are usually free activities for all who attend.

Pride Booth, 2009
Each June WUMN hosts a booth at the Loring Park Summer Pride Festival. We have between 200 and 400 new members sign up each year at our booth. It’s a fun place to enjoy the Festival weekend and meet new people.

More Volunteer Opportunities
In addition to serving on a committee, you may also want to consider being a board member or event volunteer. Board members are elected and serve for 2 year terms. Event volunteers help out on the day of the event.
